Info on next week's haunted happy hour, and some assorted spooky season recs.
Good morning and TGIF to each and every one of you (the G stands for Groven). I’m sliding into your inboxes with various spooky season tidings, first and foremost of which: have you heard the good news about our haunted happy hour? It’s happening next Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Flying Fox Tavern in Ridgewood, and it’s going to be so good.
For the uninitiated, the Flying Fox is a cozy and perma-spooky bar in Ridgewood; their regular cocktail list includes options like the Vampira and the Christopher Lee and there’s a coffin above the bar, to give you a sense of the vibe. It’s also home to my favorite horror host Unkle Spooky, and the site of an ill-fated Hinge date I went on circa 2021 (I ultimately liked the bar so much I decided to reclaim it for my own). They’ve also got a lot of amazing food, much of which is vegan. Suffice it to say it’s quickly become one of my favorite haunts.
