🎤 Music video premiere: 'Ratter's Delight' karaoke from Miss Subways 2025
It's a rat on a hot tin train in this new video from Bimini Cricket
Last week, Groove readers got an inside peek at Miss Subways, the historic pageant revived by the City Reliquary. This week, paying members get a worldwide exclusive: the official drop of “Ratter’s Delight,” the MTA karaoke track that clinched the crown for Bimini Cricket and won her the 2025 transit tiara.
The music video follows a rat who’s never been above ground, finally surfacing to play tourist in his own city.
“Sometimes there’s a risk the subway might be a little scary,” Cricket told The Groove, “but if you aren’t prepared to face that, you’ll never get to where you’re going. I wanted to marry the magic of NYC with the subway system that keeps it alive.”
Recording the video in the height of summer was its own magical NYC experience.
“I was running around Times Square at 9:30 p.m. on a 90 degree day. I had cooling pads and fans taped under my costume but they didn’t work. I was soaked. We were laughing the entire time, it was just so dumb and so fun,” she said. “A streamer asked to fight me, I scared a few people, and one little boy kept waving and saying ‘hello monkey!’ There were a lot of WTF faces, but a lot of smiles too.”
