An art review of 8 snowfolk ⛄️+ $10 tickets to NYG Live! 🎤
Life, and snow, finds a way.
I'm always impressed when one idea seems to sweep the sprawling city like a mind virus. Sometimes it's something evil like everyone deciding to wait on long lines at a single photo booth in Lower Manhattan. Yesterday, it was something much more joyful and delightful: the desire to construct elaborate, occasionally obscene, snowpeople and snow sculptures in the beautiful blizzard canvas. You can thank the snow day, citywide shutdown and inches and inches of crunchy, packable snow for this urban art show. Below, I will put on my art critic hat and review some of the snow sculptures I came across yesterday in this members-only post.
First, a reminder: The New York Groove Live! is exactly one week away. It's New York City's only live comedy-ish show hosted by news reporters. The theme this time is "Get Into It," and we'll be highlighting some regular folks who are doing great things to improve life in the city. Plus, we'll have a custom crossword. You have until 7pm today to get an early bird ticket. But if you're a member, keep reading: we have a $10 ticket code just for you below.
