Occasionally, we share some behind-the-scenes looks at stuff Team Groove is doing, seeing or enjoying around the city as bonus content for our members. Welcome to Tim's Friday high 5!
It's Friday and that means it's time to take a relaxed attitude toward work and talk about things we'd rather be doing instead (me, I'd rather be emailing you all, which is indeed my actual "work" today). My top 5 today takes us on a tour of the dance floor, the TV dial, a new interactive museum and one particular wonton I can't stop thinking about.
But first, a reminder: we're doing another happy hour in October, and a spooky celebrating of the back-from-the-dead legendary dive Siberia! Join us on Oct. 24 for a few hours of cramming into one of the most weirdly located bars in the city for a casual Friday hang. RSVP here or just show up; paying New York Groove members get extra spooky, back-from-the-dead 2000s bar prices too: $6 beer-and-shot specials 😱.
OK, now for five!
1. This hidden Queens gem of Halloween decorations
In the pantheon of neighborhoods with delightfully gaudy, over-the-top holiday decorations, you all know about Dyker Heights at Christmas and maybe you've tracked the spooky stoops of the Upper East Side every October. But, I submit to you, the most slept-on neighborhood for Halloween decorations is in a tiny slip of neighborhood in Queens, that always goes above and beyond.
