Video: The elusive city bus with just three stops
The B39 has the fewest stops of any bus, but it fills an important gap

In the city's vast and complex public transit system the B39 bus holds a particular honor: It's the bus with the fewest number of stops, with a measly three calling points. Growing up in the neighborhood, Groove contributor Ilan Cardenas-Silverstein was confused about why anyone would ever take it, until his mother had surgery, and climbing the stairs at the train station became impossible. So he set out to document how the bus's three stops expose holes in the subway's accessibility, and how congestion pricing-funding improvement projects could one day make the bus obsolete. -TD
