More brief thoughts on singles I have heard on WFUV recently
It's important, if you're gonna go out in this world, to keep listening to the radio and having opinions on new music.

The other day, me and Tim and some people went to All Your Friends, the newest of the city's handful of throwback indie dance parties. It was an okay party, but it felt like a lot of people showed up to "have an experience" (point their phones at stuff) more than they did to dance, as things didn't really open up until Passion Pit showed up and played some weird electroclash shit that cleared out like 20 percent of the attendees.
Well as things moved on during the evening, one of the late night DJs started playing stuff from the more modern end of the indie dance lineage, which we didn't know a lot of, as we are, generally speaking, washed. But I knew Lola Young's "Messy" because I'd been hearing it on WFUV. I even proudly told my friends, who were also old, "Hey I know this one." It's important, if you're gonna go out in this world, to keep listening to the radio and having opinions on this stuff. So to help you all get some opinions, and for the benefit of our paid members, and Thomas who asked for more of this in the comments of my last post on the subject, here are some more brief thoughts on singles I've heard recently on WFUV.
Royel Otis, "Moody" - 29 years after "Odelay" the nation of Australia has finally developed its own version of Beck.
Lorde, "What Was That" - Every generation should get its own version of "Believe" (this is a compliment). Like with Lana Del Rey, I was never really a "Lorde guy," but as I heard this song on the radio more and more, I found myself singing along with the chorus absentmindedly.
