Open House New York is back for 2026 and easier to navigate than ever
'What I love about the festival is it just invites us to be curious again. To wonder, to ask questions, to peek behind the construction fence.'
Open House New York, which gets lookie-loos access to some of the city’s most interesting spaces that are usually closed off to the public, is kicking off another festival of tours from Oct. 16 to 18. Over that mid-October weekend, 313 different sites and tours will let you experience parts of the city you never get to see. There can be an overwhelming amount of options, some of which you can just show up for and wait on a line and some of which require you to compete with people in advance for a limited number of tickets.
You don’t have to miss out because you’re paralyzed by by the amount of choices on the table though, because in addition to this guide you’re reading right now, OHNY has overhauled their website to make it easier than ever to learn what tours are available and plan your weekend.
“We redesigned our website this year to really help people navigate the lineup,” Open House New York Deputy Director Elis Shin told The Groove. “We have tools right at the top where you can drill down the list, so if you’ve heard that getting tickets is hard, you can filter those lists by drop-in location. You can filter by borough, by time of day, and all other kinds of things. We absolutely understand that 300 options can be overwhelming to some people.”
