Hello and happy Friday, Groovesters! In our latest issue that dropped yesterday, I wrote about how it's a great year to finally read "The Power Broker" if you haven't already (and a pretty good year to reread it too, because there's no way you're retaining 1,300 pages of City Hall drama and names of highways). Writing that story reminded me that, as consequential as Robert Moses was in the development of modern New York City, most people would probably not even know who he was if it weren't for Robert Caro's big book. Actually, lots of people probably still don't know who he is other than a guy with his name on some parks and roads, and the person your urbanist friend wouldn't stop yelling about during all of "West Side Story."

So he's not exactly a household name. And even though the kids love dressing as space Nazis and murder clowns and other baddies for Halloween, he's not exactly the kind of villain they're begging Spirit Halloween to carry. But a few years ago, I did come across someone who dressed as "Robert Moses" for Halloween, and it was our own Dave Colon.
