Occasionally, we share some behind-the-scenes looks at stuff Team Groove is doing, seeing or enjoying around the city as bonus content for our members. Welcome to Tim's Friday high 5!

Happy Friday! It's been a heck of a week in the city and I personally think I deserve one of those marathon medals for doing the two-day-Halloween, Daylight-Saving-Time, Election-Night-watch-party gambit without collapsing into mud.

This week's election results might have you feeling good about the city and where it's headed (or, at least, how much of a tone-setter the city clearly can be for the rest of the country), so I'm here with a Friday High Five that will highlight another throwback to Millennial Optimism, a key insider tip about the upcoming winter, one really beautiful piece of nature to visit this November and maybe the greatest $5 sandwich deal in Manhattan.

Even if none of these are your speed, let me remind you that as a paying member you have access to our FOMO Calendar, which Jess keeps up to date with the best "gee I wish I knew about that!" events around the city. And you can submit your own events for the calendar too, see the form for that here.

🧥 One weird trick to know about this winter

On Tuesday we had our latest New York Groove Live! with the weather oracle himself, John Homenuk of New York Metro Weather. If you missed the show, you missed John debuting his winter forecast and letting us know how the so-called "Godzilla El Nino" will affect the weather this year.

But even if you were there, you might have missed this little tidbit John shared after the show at the bar with us.
